My dash lights don’t work and my tail lights done everyth...

Hi, my name is Jay Have you checked the fuse number 17 in interior fuse box? This powers the parking lights and instrument lighting.

I didThey was working then all of a sudden they went outBut everything else is workingThe head lights work turn singnalsthe break lights workBut one day my dash lights went out and my break lightsHead lights turn singnals everything just not dash lights or rear tail lights

Is it the dash illumination and [brake](/topics-brake-ford/) lights or the parking/running lights just in rear and front work?

The rear tail lights don't work at all only break lightsthere is no dash lingers at allI got to use my phone to see how fast I'm going and everything

On your illumination is it just the dash that does not light up at night or do you also not have radio, other interior illumination not working?

My radio works my speedometer works everything works just not the lights

What I mean can you adjust radio illumination at night? i want to see if issue is just in cluster or whole illumination circuit. Like your radio, window and steering wheel switches are all illuminated same as dash on same circuit.

If the radio and other dash switches are lighting up and can be adjusted with [headlight](/topics-headlight-ford/) switch but only the dash illumination is not working then there is either a loose connection on dash connection or internal cluster issue.

Ok here's what I don't get everything was working till the head light switch i broke then I went and but two different kind of new ones one with fog lightsone with out then they never worked againIs this what your talking about

My diagrams only tell me the connections from the headlight switch go to multiple switches on dash and also powers the instrument illumination 6 bulbs. You will need to check for power at headlight switch illumination wire light blue with red stripe to see if getting power with lights on and will be able to go up and down and if okay at switch then check at back of cluster for same power to cluster and if it is ok at cluster connector then issue is with bulbs or circuit in cluster.

Ok so that part I sent you is one of the partsThe other one is the circuit in the cluster

The part you sent me looks like the light sockets used on the cluster.

I just went out there the dim thing does not work on the radioOk do u have a pic of what the cluster looks like and what I need to look up part wiseI can get all the parts and just replace them all

Then i would go back to square one by making sure got the correct switch and also check fuse 17 again to make sure sending power to switch.

I do not have a breakdown of the cluster in my manual and does not list parts for me to give you. What about trailer? Are you not getting rear truck or trailer lights? They are different circuits.

The trailer light plugs only lets the brake lights and turn sing all work on it as well no taillights or break lights on it eitherNo I'm not getting tail lights on it eitherJust break lights and turn singnals

I am going to give you the exterior lighting wire diagram and there are several different fuses to check on it and in different fuse boxes and it will be easier for you to print or view diagram and check all the fuses first since trailer and truck uses different fuses. If using a mobile device phone you may not be able to open links and will need to use a home computer or similar to open the links. I cannot guide you on each and every check and using the diagrams as a guide will need to check all fuses and wires for power using test light or volt meter and I will help in any way i can from here.

A test light would be a start and then would not have to guess if getting power from or to headlight switch.

Harbor Freight has very cheap test lights and volt meters less than $10 each. These will work for tests we need to do to narrow down issue. First make sure using correct headlight switch for truck and we can go from there. I will be back online tomorrow to help you with the tests.

One last question could it have anything to do with my Liscence plate lights being broke just curious

The rear parking/running lights for truck side would be affected if the license plate lights are shorting out. If bulbs are just blown then may not be shorted but just blown bulbs.

Well the bulbs are broke and the plasti of glass piece lens is not covering themThat's why I asked

If you can get out the broken bulbs at least they will not be shorted.
