Can't keep antifreeze in car
If your vehicle is losing coolant (antifreeze) you probably have a leak. I recommend having a trained technician, like one from YourMechanic, pressure test your cooling system to locate where the coolant is leaking from (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/coolant-is-leaking-inspection). I have a 1997 Ford f150 and it doesn't have any heat in the cabin. the [coolant](/topics-coolant-ford/) reservoir had stopped leak put in it about a year ago because it had a slight leak of coolant. I drained and flushed the radiator and the coolant reservoir changed the [thermostat](/topics-thermostat-ford/) and I still have no heat also the upper radiator hose has gone completely limp or soft Mechanic's Assistant: How old are the hoses? And have you tested the actual mix of your coolant? The hoses are probably 7 years old the upper hose the lower hose is possibly original.I haven't tested the actual mix of the coolant however I will say that against my suggestion coolant was added mixing universal coolant and green colored coolant. Also just curious it is it okay to mix the oil at 15w 40 and 5w/30? Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your F150 yourself? What have you tried so far? Yes I am trying to fix it myself so far I have changed the thermostat flush the radiator change the oil Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? Just at the the temperature on the dashboard and never gets above the cool above the sea if it does the letter c it's maybe very little a quarter however at one point it it did actually go halfway above the letter c and still I had no heat
