Hello, you can get under the truck and with an assistant, put the transmission shifter linkage in neutral, you can start the truck. Then making sure the assistant does not run you over by setting the parking brake and holding their foot on the brake, you can move the transmission linkage into the forward gear range and get it home.

Or to a shop to have the shifter cable replaced if it is broken.
Still not sure what you need?

Hello and thanks for the question. Your oil light staying on even after the car has started is something that requires immediate attention. I would recommend having it checked asap. The good news here is that it doesn't always mean...
Hi there. The crankshaft position sensor is located at the rear of the engine block near the transmission. Unfortunately I cannot send over any pictures. If you need to have your crank sensor replaced, consider YourMechanic, as a certified mechanic...

Hi there. If oil is causing the spark plug on cylinder number 4 to foul out every 600 to 700 miles, then the valve guide seals to that cylinder are damaged and need replaced. The valve guide seals prevent excessive...
Hi there - I believe you meant Electronic Stability Control module (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/what-does-the-electronic-stability-control-esc-warning-light-mean-by-spencer-cates). ESC works somewhat like anti-skid brakes, applying selective brake pulses automatically in extreme cornering situations to improve driver control of the vehicle. It is somewhat unusual for the...
This may suggest a failing voltage regulator. The voltage regulator is a unit that regulates the charging of the battery (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/battery-will-not-hold-a-charge-inspection) by the alternator. When the voltage regulator is not working properly, this may result in the alternator allowing too...
Hi there. If the spark plug is constantly burning up, then check the coil and see if it has a proper ground. The coil wire could be producing too much resistance making the coil overheat and send too much current...
If your vehicle is shaking very badly, it is possible that you have an engine or transmission mount that is worn. These mounts are made of rubber and when they wear out, they cause the engine to shake. This vibration...
