P2148 is an OBD-II generic code for the engine control module (ECM) detecting the fuel injector group A supply voltage circuit has a high resistance causing a short in the system.
The ECM monitors the voltage supply circuit to the injectors and if the circuit has a high resistance like a shorted injector or harness for the A group of injectors then the code will be set and the Check Engine light will be turned on.
This code is for an engine that has supply power to the injectors in two different banks of injectors instead of all injectors on one power supply. This code is for bank A shorted.
The Check Engine light will be illuminated and the code is set in ECM memory as a fault.
The vehicle may not run if no power supply is getting to half of the injectors in the engine.
On some vehicles, the vehicle may run at very low power and may stall at idle if it does run.
Scans for and documents the codes in the ECM and looks at the freeze frame data for the failure.
Checks the injection system power supply wires and injectors for any shorted harnesses.
Disconnects all the injectors on bank one and rechecks power to injectors for a short.
Reconnects one injector at a time to see if one is shorted or tests each injector for resistance shorts.
Clearing ECM memory codes before checking the freeze frame data for the main failure problem, so the failure may be duplicated and repaired
Failing to clear the ECM codes after the codes are fixed
Replacing all the injectors when only one is bad
Code P2148 is a problem with the injector supply voltage to one bank of injectors is shorted by a harness or injector short. This will most likely cause the vehicle to not start or stay running if it does start.
Code P2148 is for a short in the supply voltage of the injectors and may blow a fuse on some applications. The power may be controlled through a relay that is shorted on some applications, so follow the manufacture pinpoint tests to diagnose your vehicle using this article as a guide.
