What preparations are recommended before driving?

Driving your Civic is just like driving any other car, but there are a few specific steps you should take before hitting the road (in the Civic or any other vehicle). Here’s what Honda recommends you do before dropping it in drive:

  1. Make sure all the windows are clear (ice, snow, freezing rain, etc.).

  2. Make sure there’s no ice or snow accumulated on the roof, as it can slide down over the windshield while you’re driving.

  3. Double check that the hood is closed and latched.

  4. Check the air in your tires.

When trying to start it only clicks on a large relay (?ECU?) under the dash passenger side.

Car won't shift into 1st gear.
