Ok there's damage to the key correct? Just need to rule that out have you tried another key?

No there’s no damage to the key, I was real careful not to the bent the key. I have no other key.

Ok then if there is no issue with the key the problem is going to be with either the drivers door lock cylinder a tumbler can be sticking and causing this or there is an issue with one of the rods going to the door latch itself. Absolutely . Door lock cylinder parts and labor round about 150 to 200 approximately. If its the latch thats more involved about 300 to 350 . These are dealer prices independent whops will be cheaper. Glad to help Stay Safe! Bonuses greatly appreciated!
