I have a 2009 Infiniti G37 and I was driving down the rd and it acted like it was losing power so I pulled off and turned my car off and now it wont start at all. My steering column will not lock.... I've checked all the fuses, cleaned the battery terminals and took the dash under the steering wheel off and still nothing.... itll turn to the Acc and ON position but when I tried to start it the dash screen would flicker and the amber colored "key" light in the dash stays on but I've put the key fob in the key holder and I've replaced the battery in the fob...... but still no start and my steering wheel still wont lock

I try to be online for about 10+ hours a day, midday and late-night shift.
Turn the headlights on. Are they bright? Do they remain bright while trying to start? If not then your symptoms are pointing to a possible battery failure or an alternator failure and the battery is weak. Try a jump start. Use a voltmeter to see if the battery is near specs of 12.6 volts. If the battery is good, let me know.
Thank you for visiting Just Answer, I hope I was able to answer your question. If you need to follow up on this concern please use the reply button. If you like my answer please reply so I can mark your question complete. Moose

Its not the battery I've jumped it off, and checked the voltage when it was off and when in the on position and when trying to start it

Is the concern you are having, the engine will not crank, or will it crank but not start?

I need to know if the engine will crank. Is the starter engaging and spinning the engine?

Thanks.
For the starter to work, you need battery voltage on the large wire all the time and battery voltage on the small wire when trying to start.
when trying to start, can you test the voltage at both wires on the starter and let me know the voltage reading?------The voltage read 12v
Based on your response of the starter getting what it needs and the engine not cranking. Those test results confirm starter replacement is needed.

well wouldn't my steering column NOT locking prevent it from starting....? Because it's a safety feature to prevent theft right?

No, the steering column will not prevent starting ability. The testing you di confirmed the starter is not working.
