So, it sounds like you may have a couple of issues going on here. First, since you installed a new carb, did you replace the fuel filter? If not I would start there. Second, is your engine timing correct? That should be checked as well. Third, have you checked for vacuum leaks? They will cause a major lose in power. And of course what about fuel pressure? It doesn't start right off the bat I have to pump then start then it runs and dies, I repeat 2 more times and it starts and stays staryed

Is the choke set up properly on the new carb?

Should be it was sent pre setI'd call but im at work sorry

That's ok, I prefer chat. I would double check the choke and make sure it is working properly. A lot of times "preset" isn't always that way and they require a few fine adjustments.

What would cause it to go through 3 alternators in 4 months?

Is it possible the belt is getting over tightened and prematurely causing the alternator to fail? Is the battery new?

I've replaced all that I eventually went to a powermax its been good but I figured I'd ask just in case ya know

There are not too many reasons for an alternator to go bad. The main two reasons are due to pulley bearing failure, and the voltage regulator failing. Sometimes the remanufactured alternators do not hold up the best either.
