A professional mechanic looked at it said the issue is internal parts of compressor broken. The rattling seems random, but this was his diagnosis

Okay you can unplug the compressor until you can fix it correctly so the belt will not get damaged

I've mainly been using heat since its winter, so another question is whether if i unplug the compressor i will lose heating

You won’t loose heat if disconnectedJust keep in fresh air position so windows don’t fog up

okay sounds good, any guidance on what the wire looks like and can i tape the end of the wire to nearby component with electrical tape to secure?
