Vans hard to go in reverse once I get hot

My car has 165000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Hello, thank you for writing in. The vehicle is likely having issues with the transmission fluid. If you have not had the transmission serviced, it is time to check the level and condition of the fluid and replace the filter. You can then inspect the fluid for signs of metal shavings and indications that something more serious is going on. With new and full fluid, the hydraulics should be brought back up to specification, and shifting into reverse should be easier, and the transmission should respond like normal. When the fluid heats up, it becomes thinner and may not hold its hydraulic qualities. For more help with inspection or repairing the issues, contact our service department to schedule an appointment.

Hi there - yes, it's probably safe to drive with a slow leak (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/is-it-safe-to-drive-with-an-oil-leak); however, increasing the frequency of checking your oil level becomes crucial with a known leak. Checking every day is not unreasonable if the leak is severe....

Engine stalled on my 05 ford escape at a light, and would not turn over but after 2 minutes started up like nothing happened
I think you may have a tempermental electrical connection. Maybe in the power distribution box or in the car's ignition switch. You could try looking at the battery terminals or the fuse panel for any apparent corrosion, but you might...
