and it came back after clearing it. so that would mean that the bank 1 cam shaft is out of time, and it may not be enough to cause it to run bad yet, but enough to cause the code to pop on. which is telling you that it is time for a timing chain and the guides to be replaced.

I have not seen one do this as is shown in the bulletin but if they made this bulletin that means it has happened a few times
So yes I would inspect the crank shaft reluctor wheel and the timing chain and try to find the problem,

Would you do the time chain 1st or pull oil pan 1st
Kurt Mulling

Automotive Expert
timing chain cover first and try to line it all up and see if it is off first, this is the most common problem.

Still not sure what you need?
Have a certified mobile mechanic diagnose what's wrong with your car, at your home or office.
I am not aware of a change over of the brake booster from a vacuum style to an electrical style. This may be a new recall (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-to-check-if-your-car-has-recalls) that I am not aware of, and I cannot comment on an ongoing...
Low tire pressure (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-do-i-check-my-tire-pressure) or sometimes the tires themselves can contribute to this feeling. A softer sidewall will flex and feel like the tire is rolling on its side. Sometimes worn suspension components, like struts (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/strut-assembly-replacement) or shocks (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/air-shocks-replacement) can...
Hello. The symptoms you describe can be caused by a few different things, possibly two separate issues. The first thing I would do is check the vehicle's fuses to make sure that none of them are blown out. It may...
Your vehicle uses press fit wheel bearings in the front, as opposed to the simpler bolt on unitized wheel hub bearing assemblies. To press the old bearings out of the steering knuckle, typically a 20 ton hydraulic press is required....
My information shows that only one belt applies to the Sienna. While some parts sources list it as a "Poly V-Belt", it is actually a serpentine belt (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/serpentine-drive-belt-replacement) that drives all the external engine components. Price will depend on which...
Hi Chelsie. Thanks for contacting us today. It's likely that either the neck of the radiator has a crack or the radiator cap is broken. Overtime, the radiator cap will naturally wear out, so I would start by replacing the...
Hi Cynthia. Thanks for contacting us tonight. There are several things that could be causing this issue with the temperature gauge. First, and most likely is that the temperature sensor is either damaged, or the electrical connector attached to this...
Check the level of engine oil to be sure they actually added oil. Check to be sure the gas cap seal is in good condition and the cap is secure (a loose cap is a common cause of a warning...
Just because the car shuts off when you unplug the MAF, it doesn't mean that it is bad. But it also doesn't mean that it is good. Your car has the ability to adapt to missing signals so unplugging a...
