Hi and welcome to Just Answer! My name is \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* I will be the expert to assist you today. I’m sorry you’re having trouble with your vehicle; I know how frustrating it can be. Please understand I do not know your level of automotive expertise so I may need to ask questions to find out information in order to provide the best possible service and solution.
There are times when it may take me a moment to respond because I may have to look up information about your concern. I appreciate your patience.
You are describing two different issues. Changing the Fuel Pump will have no effect on Starter Operation. Do you have access to a DVOM? (Digital Volt Ohm Meter) you'll need to verify proper Battery Voltage as well as power at the Starter and the Solenoid.

A DVOM is a Digital Volt Ohm Meter. I do not set or control pricing and you have no obligation to accept a call. If you need or require a refund you'll need to contact customer service. I have no ability to assist with that.
I wish you the very best with the repairs on your truck

In case you decide to work on your truck, I have attached the instructions for testing the starter. Again best of luck with the repair. Have a safe and prosperous new year!

It can be the starter. that is why I attached the testing. Doubtful it is related to the Alternator unless it is because of a dead or discharged battery. Then you'll need to correct the battery issue as well as the charging system.

OK, then you'll need to get the starter tested. What do you mean by it sounds like it wants to crank over? Does the Starter Engage the Ring Gear?

It could be as simple as the cable. That also would need to be tested to be sure.
