Can u put a mazda ignition switch in a honda will it work
Hi there. Switching the ignition switch depends on the year of the vehicle. Older Honda’s and Mazda’s could swap out the ignition switch together, but the newer vehicles cannot as they are coded for each vehicle by VIN number. If you were to buy a new switch, it would only fit your vehicle type and the computer will program it as the ignition switch is installed. The chip in the key works with the computer and the immobilizer system to make a match. If the ignition switch is not the same it will set the immobilizer system to active mode. I suggest replacing the Mazda ignition switch with a Mazda and a Honda ignition switch with a Honda. If you need further assistance with your ignition switch replacement, then seek out a professional, such as one from Your Mechanic, to help you.
