Since you lost transmission fluid, you'll need to put a new shaft in it and fill it back up to make sure the transmission is not damaged. Do you happen to know approximately how much it costs to replace the drive shaft and fix the AC problem?

The CV shaft would probably cost around $300 to fix. You would have to get the A/C tested to see what's wrong to determine what it would cost to fix it.

Is it possible that the transmission is not messed up at all, it's only 2 years old, and only a seal?Are you giving up on this conversation because I choose not to speak on the phone?

Yes it is absolutely possible the transmission is not messed up. If the shaft came out then the fluid will come out. No I'm not giving up on the conversation. You have to give me a few minutes to type out my response.

Can I ask you another question on my other vehicle to get your thoughts?Ok, here goes, my 2005 ford escape smells hot even after driving short distances. The oil is full. The transmission fluid is full and no indication of overheating, light, observed. I haven't noticed anything on the ground either! Thanks, Rhonda
