Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
No I took my car to the shop to have it checked out from a dead battery. I got a new battery they tested the voltage of my alternator everything was fine but now my car is making clicking noises trying to start it.
Mechanic's Assistant: Did you test the battery with a voltmeter? And have you ever changed one before?
I just got a brand new battery and they did test it.
Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?
No thank you.

No. My battery light was on 2 days ago and my car cut off. I replaced the battery with a brand new one and it wouldn't not stay running and my battery light was still on. It sat for 2 days with a new battery and started up just fine today to be taken to a shop. The tested my battery voltage and alternator and both were perfectly fine. No lights onI have a 2002 Acura TL 3.2. My car radio locked up for anti Theft. I put in the code it didn't work. So I did unplug the antenna in the back of my radio to put the code in. Soon as I tried to turn it back on it wouldn't.

That sounds like you have a interment alternator issue and also a connection problem or a frayed wire. You would need to check the connections and do a voltage drop test to find where the problem is in the cable. the connection may be also causing the charging issue,

it could if it does you def have a connection issue at the battery, and even though the battery is new doesn't mean its good, you would want to have that checked to be sure so your not chasing your tail on the diagnostics.

When I went to the mechanic they did say I had a lot of corrosion on my battery connection the positive and negative but they sprayed something on it and cleaned it.If it doesn't work as well does that mean it's my alternator

its hard to say with out testing, but if you had corrosion on the cables its likley thats still the issue, I replace those with crimp on terminals for a good solid fit. the cables need to be checked too the corrosion can go into cable and destroy them

Yes, that sounds about right. The price for a fuel pump (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/fuel-pump-replacement) and connector to the pump is normal for your Chevrolet Cobalt. The gas cap (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/gas-cap-replacement) is a common problem also. Best of luck.
