Hello my name is Shareef, I have doubt about the engine. We can use rubber and springs instead of fuel. That is we are using fuel for movement of piston to run the engine. As well as that, we can use rubber on the top of cylinder and piston both. When the piston touches the cylinder head it can pushed back due to elasticity. I think it can work. Can you give me advice. Or it is possible or not.
Hey there. This involves the often heard notion and fallacy of "perpetual motion." Yes, if you or something imparts a big enough force to a powerful enough rubber band you can actuate a piston. But due to the Law of Conservation of Energy, unless you CONTINUE to impart energy to the rubber band, the cycle stops immediately. So you have to have a power source for your rubber band.
But overall, you raise a good point and that is that there are ALTERNATIVES to internal combustion engines. In fact, one of the best alternatives are electric powered or hybrid (combo electric-gas) vehicles. If you have a small car like a Nissan Sentra or VW Beetle, you can actually convert such a vehicle to 100% battery power and get a decent range that is actually within average U.S. commutes. I compliment you on your imagination. It was Einstein who said that "imagination is much more important than knowledge."
