Q: Why is my car cutting off? I accidentally placed windshield in the coolant reservoir

asked by on January 26, 2018

Windshield was placed in the antifreeze reservoir, and now my car cuts off or sometimes it acts like it doesn't want to drive. What should I do?

To resolve the contamination of the cooling system, that system should be drained and refilled. However, the contamination does not account for the stalling and that will have to be separately diagnosed and the necessary repairs made. Fuel supply faults are a possible cause of stalling as are vacuum leaks and faults with engine sensors. However, there are many additional causes of stalling that might have to be considered depending on how the diagnostic unfolds. YourMechanic offers a stalling diagnostic. If you request that service a certified Mechanic, dispatched by YourMechanic right to your location, will get this problem, as well as the coolant flush, taken care of for you. If you have further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to re-contact YourMechanic as we are always here to help you.
