The sensor is mounted to the engine block with a single bolt, mid way along the engine block under the exhaust manifold. The sensor is concealed beneath a cover that must be removed to gain access. You will see a three conductor wire/terminal to the sensor body. Sensor failure is not common, consequently unless you have actually directly viewed the output of the sensor (the generated waveform on an automotive scope), it would not be prudent to replace it. This advice holds particularly strongly if you have merely seen the sensor noted as a potential failure in a downloaded diagnostic trouble code. Trouble codes are NEVER a diagnostic and vehicle parts should NEVER be replaced solely on the basis of an OBD-II trouble code read on a scanner. All suspect parts must be individually and directly tested in order to pinpoint the actual fault. If you want the sensor tested and/or an identification of the reason the check engine light is on, the recommended service is a Check Engine Light diagnostic.
