cin all reality i need to know whether or not the limp mode was a product of the debris that may have hit his car.

Hi c I hope you are well . The first thing you will need is a diagnostic scan tool to access and retrieve faults . The epc warning is very unlikely to be caused by the debris and is likely a coincidence

With it being a vw it wouldn't surprise me if the cracked windshield led to it. but somethings giving me the idea that it has something to do with either steering or brakes going on a limb. i havent driven the car but was told it went limp mode right after the road incident.

Ok so the EPC warning light, also known as the Electronic Power Control warning light, is a typically caused by systems relating to the throttle and accelerator control

for this model its also hooked into steering and the brakeing control as it could injure the car or driver. but it seems those 2 are ok. so im thinking it could be a sensor with any of the equipment. its the throttle by cable or electronic?

Fully electronic

sweet. so if the throttle body isnt opening an d closing properly and the car is going into limp mode wouldnt it be backfireing because the fuel to air ratio is shot?
Kevin

Automotive Expert
but throttle related can be anything that effects throttle reliability so anything from the throttle body , throttle pedal , wiring , ecm , vac leaks , misfire etc
Customer

now from what i understand the cruise control could also be an issue?
Kevin

It can indeed because it obviously needs to have an accurate throttle to control

Where are the vacuum lines that might be in question
Kevin

Automotive Expert
Vac reference is within the intake system in general .
Customer

there wouldnt be a line thats squeezed and kinked up?
Kevin

Automotive Expert
No I'm more referring to intake leaks that would effect the air balance in the engine

I feel it could be more a sensor issue. I dont believe there was an issue with misfire, fuel air ratio. Or anything elseWill do
