Then have to drive it as if it was a stick shift or the engine will cut off on me. Only happens after driving it for about 20 mins, before that I can stop at a light and have no issues. If I turn off the car and let it rest I can start the whole cycle again.
Mechanic's Assistant: Where exactly do you think the noise is coming from? And how long has this been going on?

Good Afternoon, my name is \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* ill be helping you, so sorry to hear about the issues here on the Jetta. I know how frustrating it can be to deal with engine related issues. Now there are two things i suspect with your symptoms. the first one is that we have a dirty or clogged throttle body that is causing us to starve for air and stall out when stopped and in gear. We would need to inspect the throttle body and get it cleaned thoroughly if we have any signs of it being dirty. I also suspect we have an issue with our crankshaft position sensor since this can also cause stalling issues but only when warmed up so if its intermittent it also makes sense. the sensor is a little harder to narrow down and requires a scan tool to confirm if its good or bad so i would do the throttle check first.

Yeah I already cleaned out the throttlebody it was pretty dirty but I got it clean Also replace the plugs and the PCV diaphragm. Plugs look like they were never change. Read a couple of post about also replacing the valve cover with the PCV valve that would be my next step unless you have any ideas there are no fault codes whatsoever. I can get a good 30 miles on the vehicle with no issues then you notice the car starts to shake when approaching a stop that's when I have to pop it into neutral and then takeoff from the stop is if I was driving manual controlling engines Idol so I won't stallAlso of course had a recent oil change and filter

the valve cover is a good idea for a next step since its such a common issue on these models. after that we are getting into electrical diagnosis like i mentioned

Yeah if not I'm also thinking it's some sort of regulatory sensor that starts to fail when warmed up. As if it is stuck in one position that would only work when the car is cold. I'll let you know

sounds good!
Still not sure what you need?
Have a certified mobile mechanic diagnose what's wrong with your car, at your home or office.
Checking the level of oil in the engine is a critical part of general maintenance and something that you should do regularly (with every fill-up, ideally). Here’s how to do it the right way: Park so the car is level....
This could possibly be a wheel bearing failure. Wheel bearings can go dry causing a grinding or growling noise when the wheels are spinning. I would recommend having your suspension system inspected (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/car-is-making-a-noise-inspection) for any play or faulty parts. When...
Your car probably needs to have some refrigerant added to the system and maybe some stop leak. If there is a leak in the system the die will show up where the leak is and then the part can be...
The most common cause of a clutch pedal that will not retract is the clutch itself, or the slave cylinder. With the clutch not disengaging, this vehicle is not safe to be driven until the repairs have been completed. A...
The model, year, and engine would definitely be helpful in diagnosing this problem. If it is a newer vehicle, then it is most likely going into failure mode due to some internal failure with the car's computer and a computer...
Hello. If your issue is a ruined ECM, then it is likely that the ECM merely failed, or that a wiring issue caused it. Code 12 indicates that the computer is ready to communicate codes to you. If no codes...
The power steering pump filter is needed to keep the fluid clean to prevent failure to the steering system. The filter is being blown from the pressure control valve is not working properly. I recommend replacing the pressure control valve...
Although the check engine light is off, there may still be downloadable diagnostic trouble codes which might provide clues as to why the engine runs roughly. Possible causes of the trouble you are experiencing are uneven cylinder compression, fuel system...
Hi JagJoe. Thanks for writing in to YourMechanic.com. Unfortunately, replacing engines is not a service we offer - or within our scope of repairs. I would recommend searching on Google for a local engine replacement shop or service shop that...
