Hello Andy. Nice to hear from you today! I'm sorry to hear you are having this problem. I know this can be frustrating. Please give me one moment to type out some info for you. I’ll be right back! Thank you for holding Andy! The engine light that has come on in your vehicle indicates that the engine computer has detected the fault that is occurring with the hard starting and the lack of power while driving the vehicle. This type of fault that you have described can be caused by a restricted fuel filter as this is the most common cause. The other issues are a faulty fuel pump/injection pump that has to be replaced or one or more fuel injectors at fault causing lower than normal fuel rail pressure. In order to help determine the cause what needs to be done is to have a fully compatible scan tool plugged into your vehicle's data port that can read all of the computers in your vehicle to see if any fault codes are stored with this issue. Once this has been done, any codes that come up can then be diagnosed to help pinpoint and repair this issue. This will require the use of a high-end scan tool that can read all of your vehicle's computers. If you do not have a scan tool to check the fault codes yourself a shop or dealer can check the fault codes as well as diagnose the issue for about a 1-hour labor charge ( around $100 ). The cost to repair the problem varies as it depends on which component has failed that requires repair or replacement. I recommend having the fuel filter replaced first if you can since it is the most common cause for this issue.

I've been told I have leaking valves. Burning rubber smell, no external leaks but dripping noises, car not overheating

If there are faulty motor mounts (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/engine-mount-replacement) those should be repaired. Once that repair is made, if the noise persists, a noise of that "type" is often due to faulty axle joints. In your circumstance, though, inasmuch as work was...
