Hello. Nice to hear from you today! I'm sorry to hear you are having this problem. I know this can be frustrating. Please give me one moment to type out some info for you. I’ll be right back! Thank you for holding! This type of fault in some cases can be caused by a faulty electronic ignition switch. One or more of the contacts in the switch can act up/fail internally causing this electrical fault. I have also seen issues with low battery voltage causing this problem due to a weak or failing battery or [alternator](/topics-alternator-toyota/) or an issue with the battery cables and connections themselves. I recommend having the battery tested to verify it is good, as well as the connections and cables, checked for any issues. If a fault is found it will need to be repaired. The ignition switch should be tested as well to see if it needs to be replaced. If all of those components are checked and found to be o.k. then what needs to be done is to have a fully compatible scan tool plugged into your vehicle's data port that can read all of the computers in your vehicle to see if any fault codes are stored with this issue. Once this has been done, any codes that come up can then be diagnosed to help pinpoint and repair this issue. This will require the use of a high-end scan tool that can read all of your vehicle's computers. If you do not have a scan tool to check the fault codes yourself a shop or dealer can check the fault codes as well as diagnose the issue for about a 1-hour labor charge. The cost to repair the problem varies as it depends on which component has failed that requires repair or replacement.

It is possible that you could be experiencing an alternator failure (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-alternator).
