Second Opinion] I have a 2018 Corolla. The driver side wiper has not worked well since I bought the car. I’m on my third set of wiper blades. The passenger side wiper works perfectly. The driver side wiper chatters like crazy.

Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the fuses? Do you know if there is power to the wiper motor?
The wiper works. It just chatters.
Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Corolla yourself? What have you tried so far?
I have tried the new blades. I have taken it to the dealership, and asked if they could adjust the wiper arm tension, but they said no.
Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?
Can the wiper arm be adjusted or should I have it replaced?

Hi, my name is\*\*\*\*\* to justanswer. I will be assisting you with your question this evening.
I am sorry that you are having difficulties with your vehicle and I will do my best to help you.
Wiper arm tension is something you can do yourself if you are comfortable with simple hand tools. Is this something you would want to try yourself?
**\*\*As far as phone calls, If you didn't request it, it is most likely the Website prompting you, not me. A Live Call is a "Premium Service" and will cost more money. I prefer communicating via this site, but in some cases a phone call may be recommended.\*\***

I’m not so sure I would be comfortable attempting the wiper arm tension adjustment myself. But I might. However, I mentioned this to my service advisor at my Toyota dealership and he said there was no tension adjustment that could be made. Was he wrong?

Well, it is more of a wiper blade alignment than a tension adjustment.

I guess I could try taking it back to the dealership and asking for a wiper blade alignment. The problem is, they look at me like I have two heads when I try to tell them the problem!

Tell them that the wiper arm needs to be aligned at a right angle to the windshield. This can be done by twisting the arm slightly with a pair of pliers.
Now you know more than they do! Two heads are smarter than one!

Ok great!
Maybe you could tell me how to do it, and I could give it a go

Just like I mentioned. With the wipers in the down position, or park position, the wiper arm should be at a right angle to the windshield. It should not be flat. If it is flat, you will need a pair of pliers to clamp onto the wiper arm below the wiper blade attachment and twist the arm to achieve the right angle.
