I was told my speed sensor was triggering my engine light to come on the guy where I got my oil changed turn the sensor off And told me the sensor may be bad the engine light went off but then it popped back on after that the speed did not register in the speedometerI'm thinking I need to get the speedometer replaced but not sureNot the speedometer but the speed sensorMy break light is on tooI thought this service would refer me to a mechanic in my area��

However, clear troubleshooting (inspecting the wiring etc.) would need to be done first to make sure we are not missing anything. In addition, seems that you have a second issue with your [brake](/topics-brake-nissan/) lights. Possible that the brake light switch is acting up and causes the lights to stay on permanently. You mean the brake warning light? Possible that one of the sensors that would detect that the brakes are worn failed or the brake fluid level is low.

Yes, possible that this is related. To see what exactly triggered the fault the systems need to be scanned with a capable diagnostic scanner. This will give us further direction on what causes the warning messages to appear.
