The failure code you are describing should be unrelated to the work performed. But you should have the sensor inspected for evidence of physical damage. However, unless work was done on the passenger rear wheel area then it should not have been touched. Please confirm if the vehicle is 2WD or 4WD and if you have the 4 or 6 cylinder engine.

2WD 6 cylinder

Did he give you the exact code? There are multiple codes for the RR speed sensor.

No. I guess I should ask him. Can autozone pull code
Automotive Expert
They might be able to at AutoZone. There is a recall for the rear speed sensors themselves and the repair should be covered for free parts/labor as long as you meet the following criteria: - 2011-2015MY 2WD Sorento (XMa) vehicles, produced from October 24, 2009 through April 30, 2014 - Vehicle was originally retailed and/or currently registered in the coastal states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas. - following DTC codes (C1206, C1207, C1208, C1209, C1210, C1211, or C1212) are identified If all of these conditions are met they will replace both rear wheel speed sensor housing covers. See attached for the campaign information. If this does not apply to your vehicle you will most likely end up replacing the same RR sensor at your own expense. This requires replacing the rear hub bearing but it should only cost around $250-$350 depending on the local labor rate in your area. I’m glad that I was able to answer your question today.
