Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the fuses? The dashboard bulbs?
Yes.
Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Cherokee yourself? What have you tried so far?
Yes. We put a new battery in and my husband is trying to rest the computer.
Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?

So chances are good that a fuse blew when jump starting it. There is a fuse block under the positive jump start post and it is known to blow especially if the cables are hooked up backwards. You will need to pop that fuse block off the vehicle and inspect it. I would unhook the battery under the seat first of course. Hope this helps.
Still not sure what you need?
Have a certified mobile mechanic diagnose what's wrong with your car, at your home or office.
There are a few common problems with your vehicle. The first is a problem with the EGR system. There is a pipe that cracks at a flex joint and causes a small exhaust leak, but that is normally heard all...

Hey there. The fuel usage of 26L per 100km sounds like it is using too much fuel, or there is a problem with the display. I would suggest having a mechanic inspect the car first (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/pre-purchase-car-inspection) before you decide to...
Hi there, thanks for writing in. I'd be happy to offer my insight. The codes for lost communication may have a lot to do with your no crank problem. The lost communication may be due to a loose connection or...
Hi there: There are multiple reasons why your Mini Cooper is running rough and jerking. If your car jerks while the vehicle is in gear, the issues could be caused by a mass air flow sensor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/what-does-the-mass-airflow-sensor-do), O2 sensor or...
Hi there - check fuses/relays for the power windows first. If fuses and/or relays are good, your symptoms suggest that the power window master switch (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-power-window-switch) on the driver door panel has failed. I recommend a power window master switch...
Hi there. It is quite possible that your ignition lock cylinder has a mechanical glitch that is creating a massive electrical short once it's activated to the third ignition switch. In most cases, the best way to resolve this problem...
You will have two O2 sensors on this engine. One will be before catalyst in manifold and one will be after or in the rear of the catalyst. If you do not have one then vehicle was modified in some...
