This car has had the transmission fluid changed/flushed at regular intervals.

Hi, my name is \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* I'll be more than happy to assist you. Please allow me a few minutes to review your information. Thank you
this vehicle is very reliable. there are no chronic issues with the transmission other than normal wear and tear. sometimes the shifting is a problem but the shift solenoids are very accessible on the outside of the engine and aren't expensive at all. virtually no internal transmission issue at all on this vehicle as long as you have proof of the service records of the transmission fluid being changed at the proper intervals.

Some websites rank the 2001-2005 Honda Civics as the most troublesome transmissions and some consumers have had problems. What would lend to these types of reviews? And as an expert, would you avoid purchasing this make and model of car?

I have to apologize. I was referring to the accord. that is my mistake and yes, the civics were very problematic and I would avoid the purchase. I am very sorry for my misreading of the model
I worked on 4 accords today so my brain was stuck on accords

Have a certified mobile mechanic diagnose what's wrong with your car, at your home or office.
The are two main components that make most fuel pumps run: the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) and the fuel pump relay. Fuel pumps (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/fuel-pump-replacement) themselves don’t know when to shut off. They are entirely dependant on the fuel pump relay...
A fuel pressure test will have to be conducted to see if enough fuel pressure is making its way to the fuel injection system. If not, the problem could be a bad fuel pump (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/fuel-pump-replacement) or a power to the...
There is usually a certain procedure that is necessary for the switch to four wheel drive, such as selecting the neutral option on the transmission, or being stopped. If you have tried these and the vehicle still will not switch,...
Hi there. If the vehicle is just randomly turning off like this, it is almost always caused by a bad crank position sensor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-crankshaft-position-sensor) on this engine. This is very common and it will not turn on the Check Engine...
Your temperature sensor is going to be located behind the engine on the driver side. You will need to remove the engine cover and you will need a torx bit (30) to remove the sensor. You can find the info...
If you are losing that much oil, and there are no external leaks (leaks that are visible outside), your vehicle may be consuming the oil. Unfortunately this can be harder to diagnose than an external leak. The valve guides and...
Hello. The mirror (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/rearview-mirror-replacement) has a wiring terminal located behind it in the plastic that attached it to the window. This plastic clip holding in the wires should simply pull free once released. If the terminal is damaged or cannot...
Hi There, It sounds like you are describing the symptoms of a failing throttle position sensor. The throttle position sensor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/throttle-position-sensor-replacement) monitors the throttle position of the throttle plate inside the throttle body in relation to your foot position on...
Hello and thanks for writing in. It sounds like you may have a misfire of some kind that may be causing the shaking and lurching at idle. Engine misfires can be caused by many different problems and are generally caused...
