These Sonata have a Computer-controlled Altenator ,so if the battery is new, alternator new and wiring battery cables checked for the good connection then that will leaves PCM or wiring to it defective

2.4 engine Over 100 thousand miles The battery is not new but it’s not very old Either but the alternator is brand new

You ned to hook up a voltmeter and measure at battery ,while car running and all loads on,like headlight,radio ,flasher ,ac ect and see if you reading 14 plus volts ? and then remove battery and test it underload for holding 12 volts

if the battery checks out good then you will need a good shot with a tech that knows about electrical and electronics testing That can do a continuity test, short and open-wire test between the alternator and the PCM( vehicle computer) if that checks out,then he moves to pining out the PCM , and determine if it is PCM issue with the circuit I sent you and the know-how,they can test correctly and be accurate on what to replace

The schematic will need a technician & some prior know-how, unfortunately You can probably do the voltmeter part by yourself, the other will need a shop or a tech that can do it for you ,it has to be a repair shop, not like jiffy lube or Goodyear service stations these will not know how to do this, they pretty much parts replacer at a good repair shop, this can be done for about 1 hr labor , Maybe $100 The motor is bad ,not for this issue, the motor still runs and you can start it now correct? and you only have the flashing light? did you have engine issues prior or all was good

The engine light came on before but it went off Then the steering wheel symbol with the exclamation point came on with the flashing battery lightWhat do you mean it’s bad

yea that is normal when the engine system sees a low voltage so i doubt you have engine problems, you just need to have what i told you prior checked and then after fixing the charging issue,they can check if the check engine light comes back
