Thanks,
I believe the remote start was faulty or wired incorrectly. It has now damaged wiring that will need to be repaired or a new wiring harness installed if the damage is far more than can be repaired. The smoke came from powered wires grounding on the chassis or from incorrect wires being powered by the remote start. A tech should be able to follow and inspect the wires that were messed with to install the remote start.
Thank you for seeking us for help, I hope I provided what was needed. Press reply if you need to follow up. If you liked my answer please let me know so I can mark your question complete. Moose

But one more question, let say it is what you say. Could that prevent the car to turn on?

Yes, wiring that has burnt up will prevent starting and can cause many other issues.

Hey there. Your logic is absolutely correct. This is in fact one of the most commonly used ways to diagnose a bad ignition coil. If the trouble code turns to a P0301 (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/p0301-obd-ii-trouble-code-cylinder-1-misfire-detected-by-jamahl-walker), the ignition coil is faulty (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/ignition-coil-replacement). Hi there. From the description you have provided, your vehicle's loss in MPG (miles per gallon) has continually fallen over the last 10,000 miles. This could be caused by several things. It could be, the air filter is dirty and...
Hello - as you noted, the first thing to check is the fuse for the HVAC fan of course. The next step is to check to see if the fan works at any speed, or just Low or Medium. If...
Hi - the clogged intake is a long-term "carbon clogging" from the turbocharger/EGR valve operation. The manifold must be removed, disassembled, cleaned and reinstalled. Tedious, and requires moderate DIYr skills. Unfortunately, this is not a service YourMechanic offers at this...
Diesels are in fact notorious for being cold blooded by nature and can be even worse on cold starts. This is mainly due to the manner in which diesel fuel is ignited vs regular gasoline. Diesel fuel has a much...

Hi There, What you are referring to is what is called a serpentine belt (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/serpentine-drive-belt-replacement). This is a belt that powers the majority of the major engine components. I would suggest having a professional from YourMechanic come to your location...
Hi Marcalina. Thanks for contacting us tonight. There could be a few different things going wrong with your car. It's possible that a shift solenoid is either not working correctly or has a poor electrical connection. I wouldn't suspect overheating...
The large outer retaining ring on the pump, and the need to access the supply and return connections and the wiring, makes it impractical to cut an access hole. The hole would have to be too large and there is...
