How do I set drive lock mode?

When your vehicle is in drive lock mode, all of the doors and the trunk will automatically lock when your vehicle reaches a speed of roughly 10mph. You can manually set drive lock mode with a few easy steps: 1. Engage the parking brake. 2. Depress the brake pedal, and hold it down. 3. Shift the car out of P, into any other setting. 4. Close the driver’s door if it is not already closed. 5. Turn the ignition to On. 6. Press the lock button on the master door lock switch (located on the driver’s door), and hold until you hear two clicks. This should take at least five seconds. 7. Turn the ignition to ACC. This step will need to be done within 20 seconds of step 6.

It sounds like you have a misfire. This can be caused by many things: a vacuum leak (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/is-it-safe-to-drive-with-a-vacuum-leak), ignition component failure (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-can-problems-with-the-ignition-system-cause-misfiring_2), fuel system issues, etc. With a misfire, typically the Check Engine Light comes on to indicate that a...

Hi Breona. Thanks for contacting us tonight. The fact that your boyfriend was able to 'fix' the car temporarily by 'messing with the wires' indicates that the root issue is likely poor electrical connections as opposed to a mechanical problem...
