Hello Kevin, sorry to hear you are having heat issues.
Let me ask a few questions to get an idea of what is happening.
do you lose airflow?
or are you still getting good air flow just no hot air?

ok, do you only get heat while MOVING or just revving the [engine](/topics-engine-ford/) in general?
this model should still use a vacuum operated control valve on the engine, passenger side i think. you could have a poor vacuum issue that is why you get flow when revving the engine.
i would check that.

I am replying here on our chat, I dont know how you are accessing it, I know the site has a text feature as well but im on a desktop, so how you receive it can be a few ways.
then yes you have a heater control valve/vacuum issue .
you will need to check the vacuum line to it.
I believe you only have heat when you select heat.
i will have to check on that.
it will only get vacuum when heat is selected.
I could be backwards on that, it may get vacuum all the time unless you select ac you might be right on that.
been a min since I worked on one of these.
this model may also have a vacuum operated blend door,. so check the vacuum lines from the engine to the firewall.
passenger side.
but with your issue, and symptoms, it is definitely sounding like a vacuum issue to me.

Hello - A bad engine coolant temperature sensor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/coolant-temperature-switch-sensor-replacement) is a reasonable diagnosis; it could certainly cause the engine to run too rich if it's sending a bad signal to the engine computer. Before purchasing a new temperature sensor, you...
