I have a 2013 ford fusion and it keeps stalling and failing to drive after being stopped. The [engine](/topics-engine-ford/) is still on but it won't drive or accelerate Mechanic's Assistant: Is the check engine light on? Does the Ford stall at idle or when driving? The power train fault turns on, not the engine light. It feels more like a chunk than a shake Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Fusion yourself? What have you tried so far? I've taken it to a dealership to have a valve fixed but the problem persisted. I can't afford more exorbitant fees so id like to fix it myself if able Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? I'm a quick learner when it comes to mechanical things

Good Afternoon, my name is \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* ill be helping you, so sorry to hear about the issues here on the Fusion. I know how frustrating it can be to deal with issues after the vehicle has had repairs done already. By the way you describe the symptoms i suspect we are dealing with a [transmission](/topics-transmission-ford/) related issue here. If you are having a loss of power but the engine runs and revs fine then the transmission will be what is causing the problems. I would recommend we have the vehicle scanned to see what code has set that powertrain light but i suspect it will point to a transmission problem and with the issues you have and the common issues on these models i suspect it will be a mechanical transmission issue unfortunately.

Ok, thanks for the insight. I was hoping it would be the sparkplugs actually causing the problems as I know I need those replaced soon as well. Ill head back to the dealership to get the car looked at

yeah no problem. it may be a better idea to visit a local independent shop that has experience with transmissions, you will get the same or better service for a lot less money.
