Hi Chris, nice to hear from you again!
Ok, is the check [engine](/topics-engine-ford/) light on at this time?

it is. But with the ice I can’t get them read yet. Like I said it runs great idle, but when you drive it. It has no power and back fires in the intake

Ok
I suspect one of two possible causes for this.
First, if you can, try unplugging the maf sensor, then start it and drive it, if it's got restored power, then replace the maf sensor. If there isn't any change, then I suggest pulling the front or upstream O2 sensors out of the [exhaust](/topics-exhaust-ford/). This will leave open holes for the exhaust to escape through if the converter is plugged up due to the original misfire problem
Give these tests a try and let me know what you find.
When you can. Thanks Chris.

do you think I should test the fuel pressure

At this point, I don't think it's the problem. Ordinarily, you won't get a backfire with low fuel pressure.

You're very welcome.
Still not sure what you need?

Not really if you think about it. You've got a a catalytic converter which is on the exhaust system. The hot gas comes out of the engine in the manifold and then goes through the exhaust system to the catalytic...
Hi there, thanks for writing in about your 1993 Honda Civic del Sol. Your friend was probably referring to a failed MAP sensor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/manifold-absolute-pressure-sensor-map-sensor-replacement). It does reside under the intake manifold and can cause mixture issues resulting in RPM surges....
Hey there. I recommend having an expert drive the vehicle to verify the noise so the noise can be isolated to an engine or transaxle problem. With the symptoms you describe, a rattle that only happens over 40 mph may...
Hey there. Try having the compression checked for each cylinder. I have had experiences where this code pops up due to a lack of compression from a burned exhaust valve. Also, are you using the right fuel? Using inferior fuel...
Hello, when you have a failure in the rear differential assembly the metal debris will ruin bearings. A shim kit may be required to set-up the diff. to proper specs. A bent axle can damage gears. There are measurements that...
Some vehicles were designed to have an option to not have a passenger airbag. That maybe the possibility why there is no airbag. If you were to dig around in the dashboard and find wires tied together, then someone removed...
If the speed at time of impact was over 10 MPH and you jumped the curb, the alignment can easily be disturbed not to mention the possibility, indeed likelihood if the speed was high enough, of damage to the unibody...
Unfortunately, as our vehicles age, the parts will just wear out. There are a few possible issues that can cause a clunk when going over bumps (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/clunking-noise-when-i-drive-over-bumps-inspection), in a vehicle that is getting up there in mileage. Worn shocks/struts, worn...
Generally, the alert lights or check engine light (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/check-engine-light-is-on-inspection) comes on when something fairly serious is going on with the vehicle. This can happen for many different reasons such as a faulty mass air flow sensor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/mass-airflow-sensor-replacement), a faulty O2...
