Mechanic's Assistant: How often does the vibration occur, and when did you last have the tires balanced?
It's doing it when it's sitting still now I can understand that when I'm driving and it's shaking that that could be what it is like I said I just had to replace the whole suspension and steering the only thing that's not new with the rack and pinion and the steering box about new control arms do ball joints Baba blah blah so that part I can understand but I don't understand when I crank it the high RPMs I can't find a vacuum leak that's what it is
Mechanic's Assistant: What is the make/model of your '00 car?
00 mustang v6
Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Yes I'm fixing it myself I don't have money to take it to a real mechanic I feel like I've tried everything I've replaced the PCV valve I have a new [exhaust](/topics-exhaust-ford/) I have I mean I've spent more money on this car it's ungodly and I still can't figure it out I'm thinking maybe it could be the canister or something I got a couple of hoes is there iffy I don't know if that's going to be it I also know that I have a leak and it looks like it's the where it goes from the radiator into the AC or it's got a red cap one of them
Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?
How can I tell if it's a torque converter hopefully it's not a [transmission](/topics-transmission-ford/) problem it ships really good it drives really good the motor sounds really good when it idles out

So when does the vehicle shake? In Park while the [engine](/topics-engine-ford/) RPM is between 1500 and 2000 RPM? Is that correct? Have you check for vacuum leaks? Does it have plenty of power when trying to accelerate under a load in drive? Have you checked for codes in the computer?

It is throwing no codes it shakes and revs high on start and then it idles out and runs great and the reading is between 1200 to 2000 depending on the day I guessI've checked for vacuum leaks the best way I can. I got a bleeder vacuum hand pump I'm trying to figure out how to use it for a vacuum leak I'm pretty smart mechanically inclined but I'm self-taught so don't know that much but I know enoughWill anything besides [brake](/topics-brake-ford/) cleaner works for me to spray with cuz I don't have brake cleaner and I have no way to go anywhere with my car broke down and it's only broke down because I'm waiting on hubs from UPS it's sitting on jack standsI don't know what's wrong with it I just wanted to stop and run

Your best bet would be to start by checking for vacuum leaks under the hood with the engine running (as long as it idles). A good visual inspection might reveal a simple/obvious vacuum leak causing these codes. Look near the throttle body and gasket, intake manifold and gasket, vacuum hoses and lines and even at, around and near the brake booster. Fix or replace anything that is leaking vacuum. Sometimes these are obvious once you pop the hood. If not, it may need to go to a shop to get the intake system smoked checked for vacuum leaks. This should be done by a professional technician at a reputable repair facility. A smoke machine makes it super easy to locate a small or hard to find vacuum leak. [Here is an example of a smoke machine that we use at the shop.](https://www.jbtools.com/redline-95-0003c-smoke-pro-total-tech-3c-with-easy-intake-leak-detector/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAqdP9BRDVARIsAGSZ8AkycuSs7fo7AHdouD3x__7_JTrxuZZRRyTh15KhzeAvTmLJhWtYvBEaArMMEALw_wcB)
The harmonic balancer, [camshaft](/topics-camshaft-ford/) position sensor or a crack flywheel can all cause this vibration. However the idling issue that you're experiencing is most likely caused by the vacuum leak. I would strongly recommend that you use the smoke machine I mentioned above and smoke test the intake system for vacuum leaks. If you can get your hands on a smoke machine this would be your best bet. Otherwise you can have a shot to do this for you. This is by far the most easiest, efficient and safest way to check for vacuum leaks.
If it turns out there are absolutely no vacuum leaks but the engine still idling incredibly high, I would strongly recommend to check and replace the throttle position sensor along with the idle air control valve or motor located on the side of the throttle body.
Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to help you. I really appreciate your patience through this process. My goal is to provide you with excellent service.
