Recently my 2004 Chevy Tahoe started making continuous clunking noises when engaged in\*\*\*\*\* I put it back to\*\*\*\*\*and the clunking stops . It’s winter in Maine Mechanic's Assistant: Where exactly do you think the noise is coming from? And how long has this been going on? Coming from the front end around the\*\*\*\*\*components Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Tahoe yourself? What have you tried so far? I have an appt. tried engaging while in park but clunking started right up when I started to drive Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? 240,000 miles. Okay thought so sounds like you have a problem with the front axle or front prop or driveshafts CV joints U joints You need to get it on a lift and inspect all these possible parts. Acke and driveshaft outer / inner CV joints, Typical would be the U Joint on the front end of the Drive/Prop shaft Propshaft. <u>If you need more help, please let me know so l can continue to assist you.</u> Simply reply back if you require additional information and I will be happy to help with any follow up questions.
