There are 2 different 4.3 but without looking? I think? both are the same, Its a sensor pushed into the rubber air intake hose going to the engine on the bottom of the hose. Here is a picture file link I hope my information has helped. If you have any followup to this question? I am on/off each day and will reply as soon as I am back online and see your reply It was a pleasure speaking with you and hope you have a wonderful remainder of the day. I replaced this sensor today, and my check engine light is still on. Any ideas?

I would need the trouble code as several for the IAT. Its a guess otherwise. I would need to pull the diag flow chart for the code set

Gotcha. Unfortunately, I had the scan put on at a dealership since I have the ObD2 connector and the ObD1 system(obd1.5) I will check with them tomorrow to see if they will give me an exact code number
Automotive Expert
ok, LMK thanks or go to local parts store and get a free code scan

Auto parts store doesn’t work with the obd1 system unfortunately
Automotive Expert
true, sorry been long day I see you are pre 1996

No problem! I also see online that obd1 does not give precise codes

I have been a master tech 39 years and had to think back to codes pre OBDII. I think code 23 is what set. I realize you do not have a scan tool to do all the steps but I attached a file link in .PDF format showing the diag flow chart. If using a phone? you may? have to open from your email. Best I have at the moment. Here is the file link

Trying the fuse trick now
Automotive Expert
? unsure what you refer to, I sent the diag chart for the code. sorry, little lost

In the file, it says if you pull fuse 10 for 10 seconds, it will reset codeFuse #9, sorry
Automotive Expert
oh, your trying to do a reset, sorry. Unhooking battery for 90 seconds does the same,

Got it. I’ll give that a try as wellFuse reset did not work
Automotive Expert
ok, so what is happening, you cleared codes and start and run and when does the light come back on

Immediately
Automotive Expert
unsure, you can not do the flowchart without scan tool so, its as shown under diagnostic aids or possible ECM since new sensor, this is providing all connections are good

Ok. I will try tomorrow with a scanner. Thanks for your help tonight
Automotive Expert
ok,.
