My car won’t start I have a 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo 3.4 l, some guy told me it was my E.G.R valve I changed it nothing it cranks but still don’t start,I changed my fuel filter cause it clogged it started for a bit turned it off then didn’t start again but cranks but don’t turn over or start, I took out the air filter cleaned out the air filter with carbon cleaner it started for a bit again then next day went to start it cranks but don’t start up. That’s my problem
Mechanic's Assistant: Is the fuel filter an external one, or is it inside the tank?
Underneath or the bottom of the car
Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Monte Carlo yourself? What have you tried so far?
Honestly a couple street wanna bees and 1 mobile mechanic. I tried just the fuel filter but the 2 codes popped up one code we fixed and cleared the other was the crankshaft position sensor but my street mechanic took out the plugs the back one my car has 2 that was 4 days ago he has not come back and still have my plugs
Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?
I changed E.G.R valve,map sensor,fuel regulator,alternator,air filter,[radiator](/topics-radiator-chevy/),new battery,temperature sensor, transmission from a 2005 Chevy Monte carlo,power steering pump,and thermostat,and turpentine belt I think that’s it

Ok, first, was the crankshaft position sensor replaced and if so, was the relearn procedure done using a scan tool?
Second, has fuel pressure been tested with a fuel pressure gauge?
Third, when you turn the key to on position does the security light which is a padlock symbol, flash on and off, come on and go off within 10 seconds or stay on as long as key is in on position?

HI
Ok, unfortunately there is not alot you can do at this point until you get the plugs back and installed.
At that point a fuel pressure test needs to be done. With the fuel filter having been clogged, I suspect your fuel pump is also and needs to be replaced, but will need to be confirmed by doing a fuel pressure test.
It should be 52-59psi with key on [engine](/topics-engine-chevy/) off. If under that, replace the pump

HI,
There is not a reset button for this. The computer has to be reflashed with a dealer level scan tool

If the noise gets louder when you accelerate and goes away with the A/C off then the problem is with the internal bearings within the A/C compressor itself. You should have the A/C compressor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/ac-compressor-replacement) checked and replaced if noise...
