Without knowing all of the information like the vehicle history, the components that have been tested or replaced, the results of any tests that need to be run and without being there myself looking at the vehicle, it is hard to say exactly what is going on. I can only give you a general answer, but I hope this helps.
Based on my experience, here are the possible causes.
- Engine Control Module (ECM)
- Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC)
- Oil Pressure Relief Valve
- Oil Pressure Sending (OPS) Switch Wiring
- Oil Pressure Sending Switch
Engine Oil Pressure Sender and Engine Oil Pressure Sender Screen are the most common out of the above possible causes. If the oil pressure send has been replaced, you may want to remove the Oil Pressure Sending sender and then remove the screen and verify it is clean. If not, clean or replace it as needed.
If the screen is not the issue and the problem remains once checking or replacing the screen, install an oil pressure gauge and run the engine until the Instrument Panel Cluster gauge indicates low oil pressure. You can compare the mechanical gauge to the scanner value under live data. If the mechanical gauge indicates a normal value and the IPC indicates no pressure, disconnect the OPS jumper the Gray wire to the Tan/Black wire and check the scanner value. If a high pressure/voltage value is indicated, replace the OPS. If there is no actual oil pressure indicated on the mechanical gauge, check for failed bearings.
It has been a pleasure working with you so far. Keep in mind this is a “starting point”. We can always continue as needed at a later date or at any time. Feel free to run some tests and reply back for further assistance as needed. My goal is to provide you with excellent service. The problem you're having should almost certainly...
