Mechanic's Assistant: Has the clutch been slipping? Are you having any trouble shifting?
I wasn’t until the other day I went to shift and it reved higher than normal without me pushing the accelerator. And I smelled a burning smell.
Mechanic's Assistant: What is the model of your '05 Chevy?
Silverado 2500hd
Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
I would like to as money is tight. I have eliminated any fuses, verified the master cylinder and slave are in working order, no leaks of any kind, and the clutch isn’t a year old.
Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?
No that’s everything.

It sounds like a clutch problem. Did you get any warranty when you replaced it?

Hello, my name is \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* thank you for using just answer. The site will prompt a phone call, but that is not always necessary. If it is necessary later in the conversation, I will propose it. I am sorry you are having this concern, but I will do my best to assist you.
You will need to remove the trans and take a look at what is damaged. Make sure to check the dual mass [flywheel](/topics-flywheel-chevy/), those are known for failure. If the truck sees heavy duty use, I recommend upgrading to a solid flywheel. Hope this helps, thank you.
