Well my 1989 gmc v1500 5.7 will fall on its face when I accelerate after it has been running for awhile . I have replaced the injectors ,IAC ,throttle position sensor, o2 sensor ,egr valve, egr solenoid , map sensor and pcv valve. The fuel pump and ignition control module went out a few months ago and were replaced , that is when this all started , also had surging and hard starting actually had to hold the throttle open to get to start but that stopped after egr was replaced. Mechanic's Assistant: Have you located all of the vehicle's oxygen sensors? Are the wires leading to and from each intact and in good shape? Yes and it has been replaced Mechanic's Assistant: What is the model of your '89 GMC? V1500 suburban Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far? Yes I am Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? I think I got it all in the first msg

Good AFternoon , It seems like you replaced just about everything , is the check [engine](/topics-engine-chevy/) light coming on when it does this ?

No it does notI also just checked my fuel pressure it is running at about 12 to 13 psi
Automotive Expert
that sounds low , but i'd have to double check and see what its supposed to be

This issue started after I had to replace my ICM and fuel pump a few months ago1989 gmc v1500 from what I understand it should be around 15psi
Automotive Expert
that fuel pressure is fine , its supposed to be 9-13 are you checking the fuel pressure when its acting up or when its running fine ?

When its running fine I will have to check next time I drive to work and backThe only thing that I have not replaced it the distributor and coil
Automotive Expert
that's what you are going to have to do is check it when it acts up and then see if you are loosing spark or fuel to know what to check next .

Ok I will do so
Automotive Expert
ok
