Hi Moose, I have a 2016 Hyundai Sonata and my OBD2 is missing and my engine light is on. How can I get this fixed? Mechanic's Assistant: Has your vehicle stalled? Has anyone run a diagnostic test to pull the trouble code? I am sorry Pearl the chat showed me Moose name. Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Sonata yourself? What have you tried so far? Nope, I need someone to fix it for me. Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? The engine light is on and I can only on drive 25-35 mph.

Ok, reduced engine mode/limp in mode with check engine light on can be caused by the electronic throttle control, turbo fault if equipped with the optional turbo engine, transmission control system. If you have a parts store close to you, you can drive to them and they will scan the fault codes for free and tell you the area of concern. If you need a mobile mechanic, you will need to either call one in your area or you can go thru a national mobile mechanic service such as https://wrench.com/ to find one near you Thanks for using Just Answer and letting me help you. HI, Ok, the connector is found by the fuse box at left side of dash - you remove fuse panel cover at the dash and it will be there.

I have done that, it is missing.

HI Then some dash work was done as some point and not reattached there and is somewhere behind the left side of the dash. The obd2 connector, if it was cut off or torn off or otherwise removed, would have put it into limp in mode the moment it happened. It is there behind the dash. You will need to remove that lower left dash trim panel to find it.

Ok thanks you for your help!
