Hi Omar it's nice to meet you.
A very common issue that will cause this code is the [timing chains](/topics-timing-chain/) or the chain tensioners. I would take a look or check the chain for looseness, if there is any, then replace the tensioners and see if the issue goes away. If the chain is tight, then the issue might be the oil control valve. But a more common issue is actually the tensioners themselves.
It's $26 for the phone call, one call. I don't do the calls, but some of the other experts do if you decide to take the site up on that offer.

Well, from here it seems logical, I am not there to pull the cover or check the timing, but since it's such a common issue GM wrote a bulletin to have techs check the chain first, it seems pretty likely.
I am not there working on the car. You can check the other items on the list or do a leak down test on bank 2 cylinders to determine if the valves are open at the wrong time.
Because it's not off on bank 1, it's off on bank 2.
Still not sure what you need?

The "thumping" sound you mention seems more like the torque convertor lock-up clutch in the transmission failing. It tries to lock up, can't recycles, etc. GM has a service bulletin on this problem - TSB Reference #3438A. Discuss this with...
What you are feeling is likely the brake rotors are warped, as you suspected. The rotors may need to be replaced. The rotors can get warped when they get hot and then hit water or excessive braking. Have the brakes...
The transmission fault error may mean many different things ranging from simple things like low transmission fluid (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/transmission-fluid-service) to faulty speed sensors (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/transmission-speed-sensor-replacement) to a faulty transmission control module. The quickest and easiest way to diagnose an error code like...
Hi there - while the 2.8 may bolt up, and the (automatic) transmission is the same, the electronic control software is different. Swapping engine and transmission controllers from the 2.8l into your CTS MAY allow a relatively smooth swap, but...
It sounds like what you are describing may be related to a faulty starter relay. The starter relay (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/starter-relay-replacement) directs power from the battery to the starter solenoid which then engages the starter when you turn the key. When this...
A starter motor uses a lot of current and thus will cause a voltage drop at the battery. During the brief interval that a starter engages and runs, any other circuits that are also "on" could see the voltage drop...
