Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the fuses? Do you know if there is power to the wiper motor?
I have not checked fuses yet. There is power, as the functioning one will move when switched on
Mechanic's Assistant: What is the make/model/year of your car?
2003 Cadillac Deville
Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your DeVille yourself? What have you tried so far?
I have not done anything yet to fix this, if I can do it myself I will, but I just dont know if the issue will be resolved by a simple windshield wiper change
Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?
I believe that is it! Thank you!

Thanks for holding, Terry.
When only one wiper arm is moving, first, check the wiper arm mounting nut at the base of the wiper arm. Pry off the plastic cap with a small, flat-blade tool to access the nut. Make sure the night is good and tight. If the nut is tight and still no movement, then the problem will lie in the wiper transmission. It is common for a 'pivot ball' of the transmission to pop out after being frozen. The wiper transmission is located under the cowl grill at the base of the windshield. For an image location view, click here: https://bit.ly/30i4zeH. To gain access, remove the wiper arms. Remove the cowl covers.

If the issue is due to the wiper transmission, will this pivot ball need replacement? Or simply just to be inserted back in

Unfortunately, the pivot balls are not repairable. Once they pop out, they are no good. The wiper transmission as a whole will need to be replaced.

I see. And let me ask you this, I am aware that Cadillacs sometimes require to be worked on by mechanics at their respective dealer. Would you happen to know or be aware of anyone that would be able to help me repair this locally? I reside in Columbus, OH, 43215

Unfortunately, we are not allowed to promote any businesses. My advice is to try AngiesList.com or YellowPages.com. Both are free to use and both have real reviews from real people in your area. Find a repeatable shop with Caddy experience... and you should be just fine.
