Q: Aux cigarette lighter

Typically, cigarette lighter outlets can be used to power 12 volt devices and power inverters can also be plugged into the outlet to supply 110 volts for low power devices. However, the amount of power available is very limited and depends on the vehicle wiring. Typically, only around 100 watts can be safely supplied at the cigarette lighter outlet. Although, more power can be supplied at a cigarette lighter that is converted to an auxiliary, that requires re-wiring and there will be still be some limitation based on what your alternator can supply.
