I drive a manual Mazda Atenza 05 and I find my car turns off while slowing down and dropping down gear. Is this to do with transmission fluid, oxygen sensor or something else? Just getting some knowledge about it before I take in :) Mechanic's Assistant: When was the last time your transmission fluid was checked? Changed? It was serviced 2 months ago so would that be included? Mechanic's Assistant: What year is your Mazda 5? Sorry I meant Mazda Atenza 2005 Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Mazda 5 yourself? What have you tried so far? We did have an issue when engine light came on, and they said it was Oxygen sensor before I got it serviced. But haven’t tried anything I’m just curious before I take it in again. Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? No thanks

Howdy from Tennessee, I'm Chris aka Moose. Who am I helping today? I'm glad you've come here to get help. I will do my best to get the answer you are looking for. I help many customers, so sometimes my replies are delayed, I will respond once available. I try to be online at 1-5 pm and 10 pm-5 am every day. Normally when the engine stalls when coming to a stop, That is to blame on the throttle body not adjusting correctly to maintain airflow into the engine. If it's an electronic throttle body then it may just need to be cleaned. If it's mechanical then it may just need a replacement idle air control valve. It can also be a faulty brake booster vacuum valve causing a vacuum leak or a faulty reading MAF sensor causing an air-fuel adjustment issue. Thank you for seeking us for help, I hope I provided what was needed. Press reply if you need to follow up. If you liked my answer please let me know so I can mark your question complete. Moose
