Before today it was 4 thousand miles ago, it is an Acura MDX that uses synthetic oil recommended by Acura it was supposed to be good for 5000 miles but it dissipated at 4000
Mechanic's Assistant: What year is your MDX?
2010
Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your MDX yourself? What have you tried so far?
No, I don’t work on it. So far I have only had a fresh oil change this morning.

Hello and welcome to just answer. My name is\*\*\*\*\* will assist you today. I am sorry you are having this issue but hopefully I can help. First of all it is not uncommon for an engine to use a little bit of oil between oil changes. If you have to add a quart of oil between oil changes, then I am okay with that.

It didn't use a little oil, it ran completely dry in 4000 miles

You should check the oil at every other fill up. And top it off as needed. The viscosity of oil used in today's engines is pretty low which means oil consumption is higher than in the past on older engines. Have you noticed any oil leaks under the vehicle?Chris

No leaks, the guy at the oil change looked it over really thorough. My biggest concern is that something is wrong that it used ( for a better lack of words) all of its oil not just a little, until the warning sign said OIL NOWIt doesn't smoke either

Okay, well if it does not smoke and is not leaking, then I would not be too worried at this point, just check the oil regularly like at every other fuel tank fill up. Don't let it run too low.Chris
