I got to provide my own part even and not get robbed by the chain stores or dealers. The Facebook coupons made it inexpensive. Mechanic was friendly, proficient and very kind. Answered my questions and I'm more than impressed!!! Last time for my kid's car Firestone or some version of them charged me 3 times as much for same issue and had to take car back to fix it. Your Mechanic's prices are half of what the dealer was asking. The dealer said I needed a lot of work on my '05 Honda CRV with 157K miles on it (over $2000). However, there was only one symptom of oil leaking so I decided to get one of the 10 things "fixed", and a routine oil change. When Gerry came out, he assessed the car and said it wasn't motor oil (dealer recommended valve cover gaskets and differential service) but trans oil & the seal he showed me that was leaking, was never mentioned by the dealer's service person. Gerry also said that my type of car doesn't need differential service and both services would not have been needed ($400 to the dealer). I'm glad we found YourMechanic.com when looking for a second opinion. Not only did Gerry come to the house, it was easy to get an estimate online, make an appointment and follow up. The only thing I noticed was that when Gerry tried to adjust my invoice to just an oil change, although he had the internet service on his phone, he wasn't able to adjust the invoice to say the corrected amount, only the original amount for a little over $236 to $30 (I got a $10 credit for liking them on Facebook). It was resolved before I called their 800# to ask about it. Their main office is in California and we're in FL so they weren't open yet. All in all, I love the service and Gerry did a great job, gave us peace of mind as we go on our 3,000 mile road trip with the inspection. We'll definitely call on him again, just wish the site had a way of requesting a specific mechanic if we already have a relationship with the one we met. Since we've only used this service once we hope it's a choice for the next service. Gerry's very informative, friendly and we'd like him to work on our other car when we need it.
