First time using YourMechanic and Bernie was excellent. He arrived at my location early and immediately got to work on my vehicle. He explained what he was doing and also went out of his way to ensure that my Malibu had the correct parts. Nice guy, professional, and takes pride in his work. He got the job done fast

Bernie is clearly a man that knows exactly what he is doing. He was telling me things about different parts of my car and I asked him how did he know that ? He was committed to getting the job done when other mechanics said it couldn't be done. He even took the car for a test drive after the work was finished to make sure that everything was in order. I highly recommend him.

This was a maintenance appointment -- not a repair of something broken -- so I was surprised when the brakes felt so much better after Bernie did the work. While Bernie was quick once he got started, he was an hour and a half late for the appointment, brought the wrong size pads, went to go get the right ones, and was gone for an hour. I did put in to have the front brakes changed but he took them off and said nothing was wrong with them. It was only after he had put everything back on that he decided to test for the rear brakes. Based on what I read on the website, if the mechanic finds that the vehicle needed less or more, that the price would be altered. Instead I was charged before he even began, was charged for brake cleaner and something else that was never used, and then sent a quote for over $300 for rear brakes and rotors. Wouldn't it have made more sense for him to check the rear brakes and adjust cost based on what needed to be changed? Also, the 50 point brake inspection was never completed.

I specifically asked for Bernie to come back, since I was so pleased with the work he did on our other car. This time I got to meet Bernie personally. He is a kind family-man who exhibited the quiet confidence of someone you would expect with the 50 years of automotive experience that he has. I felt very comfortable giving him the key to my car. Two of my kids (ages two and four) came out to greet him, since they remembered him from his first visit.
