This was my first attempt with yourmechanic. This is a wonderful idea to have someone come to your house and fix for the same price you get done at a shop. William, the mechanic came before time and found very knowledgeable and nice. He took his time and explain all detail but my first attempt was a failure. This was for a faulty ABS sensor and he had to replace the sensor on the front driver side wheel. After spending nearly an hour of time, William was unable to remove the old sensor saying it is glued to the part of the wheel and is not coming off. He said the entire part needs to taken off the axle and needs to be taken to a shop and it would cost a lot of labor. If the sensor cannot be removed, the entire part may need to be replaced. Now, I was charged for the entire amount quoted even though he couldn't do the job. Now, I took the car to a mechanic shop nearby and it was replaced in less than an hour without removing any part. I was charged half of the labor that was charged by car mechanic. So I am not really a happy customer. I still think this idea of mechanic coming to your house to repair is good but I would double think about for what repair I would call a car mechanic as anything complex cannot be done at home and you will be charged for the visit.
