Christopher did excellent work on our pre-purchase inspection--timely and clear communications, thorough and detailed reports, and honest and straightforward appraisal of the car. I just discovered YourMechanic.com. I decided to try its service. Theodore came a few minutes before the appointment. That does not happen with other services often! You get the 2- or 4-hour window, and serviceman shows usually up at the end of the window, or later. Theodore was better than perfect on this item. He started work immediately, and was done quickly. He explained to me the work done and his recommendations for the future. He showed me worn out parts, which was very appreciated. He asked me to test-drive the car. He noticed the worn wipers and he replaced them (I had a spare pair) for me and refused to charge me for that. He was very polite and patient. That was a great experience, and extremely convenient for me. And pricing was considerably lower than the dealer quote. The invoice came to a little less than original quote. So it is obvious that I will use this service, and Theodore's in particular, again, and encourage my family and friends to use it Thank you Theodore! The system behind the whole operation of YourMechanic.com is also impressive, from the first moment of investigating the site, to the invoice generation. It is very smooth, very modern, efficient, and thorough, with no confusion whatsoever. Quite unusual. It even notified me this morning when Theodore left for the appointment and allowed me to monitor his progress, so I was ready for him when he arrived.

DON'T LEAVE THE MECHANIC ALONE! NO MATTER WHICH MECHANIC YOU'RE ASSIGNED. This is a tough one because I am sure that Travis is a great mechanic, but it's the practices of the organization that I have a problem with. I specifically requested brake pads to be done. I knew that my rotors could be turned and would not need to be totally changed out until the next time my brakes needed changing. Travis arrived on time and according to my husband he was very courteous. My husband walked away and Travis proceeded to do the work. When the work was done it turns out that Travis changed my rotors and my breaks and he never reached out to me (or my husband) to state that he would be changing the rotors. It would seem to me that although my job stated pads only, he brought rotors with him and had every intention of putting rotors on causing my bill to be $90 more than I expected. I reached out the to company and it would appear that they have a very stern position on battling with the customer when they know that they're wrong. It took 3 phones calls and me standing my ground for them to offer at least 50% of the increased amount back, and instead of them taking it from their pocket they took it from Travis, and on top of it, my brakes still had/has a squealing sound when I stop. I would imagine that this should go away with new pads and rotors. If you decide to use this company DO NOT leave the mechanic alone. I recommend that you stand there and watch them. I'm very disappointed with the company.
